Wednesday Evening Book Group

During the fall and spring semesters, we usually meet on the second Wednesday of the month (except during breaks in the Purdue schedule) at 7:00 p.m., here at the church. This is a very informal group; there are no quizzes!

Our books for fall semester 2019:

September 4: Rachel Held Evans, Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again
We’ll be meeting one week earlier than usual in September.

October 9: James Martin, Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion, and Sensitivity

November 13: A. J. Jacobs, The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible

December 11: End-of-semester movie night!  Title, time, and location TBA

We usually have a small number of copies of the current book here at the church for lending out.  Buy a copy of any of the books we’ve read from Amazon.com through our Website, and we make a few pennies. Go to our “Donate” page (here), click on the AmazonSmile logo, and then place your order.

Questions about the book group? Suggestions for future reading? Contact Mark Thomas at the church office, 743-1347, sheep@goodshep.org

For a list of books that our group has read (a list going back to 2006), click here (Word format) or here (PDF).
